1998 Latin American Fellow Elected into AAAS

On November 25, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) named 338 new Fellows, including 1998 Pew Latin American fellow Alejandro Aballay. AAAS fellows are selected based on their demonstrated efforts to advance science or its applications.

Aballay, an associate professor at Duke University Medical Center, studies how the innate and immune systems interact in the worm C. elegans.
