Overseas Voting Assistance

Return to Election Data Dispatches.

At Pew’s December Voting in America conference, the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP), charged with serving America’s military and overseas voters, offered details on the kinds of support it provided for the 2012 election.

Pamela Mitchell, acting director of FVAP, stated that since November 2011 the program’s website had more than 21 million visitors – and nearly 10 million of those were in September and October 2012.

Additionally, more than 1.2 million people sought help from voting assistance officers stationed around the world, and the agency’s call center received more than 54,000 requests for support.
