“Whose Revolution Is It?” is a written adaptation of the Stephen E. Weil Memorial lecture delivered at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums’ annual meeting October 25, 2010 by Marian A. Godfrey, senior director of Culture Initiatives at The Pew Charitable Trusts. The lecture focuses on how evolving societal and cultural forces—demographic shifts, the impact of new technologies and generational transitions—are challenging all cultural organizations, including museums, to transform the visitor experience, and how arts organizations can respond to this sea change.
