The California Department of Public Health released a health impact assessment (HIA) of a proposed "cap-and-trade" regulation under California's 2006 Global Warming Solutions Act. This HIA was done by the California Department of Public Health to inform the development of new carbon "cap and trade" regulations by the California Air Resources Board. The new regulations are intended to reduce the state's greenhouse gas emissions by imposing a cap on the amount of carbon dioxide that large industry can emit. The HIA is supported by a grant from the Health Impact Project.
