"Reason number gazillion for record low approval ratings for Congress went into the books last week.
 
Once again, federal lawmakers failed to take action on much-needed food safety legislation.
 
A Senate bill remained stalled despite testimony last week about unsanitary conditions, including dead and decaying chickens, at Iowa farms that were the apparent source of eggs infected with salmonella. Several of the more than 1,600 people sickened by the eggs testified about their hospitalizations and continuing health difficulties ... "
