Pew Appoints Maryam Henson as Vice President for Partnerships
WASHINGTON—The Pew Charitable Trusts announced today that Maryam Henson will join the organization as vice president for partnerships, effective Jan. 24, 2022. In this role, Henson will oversee the planning and implementation of the organization’s fundraising strategy, helping to steward current partners and increasing external support for key initiatives.
Henson joins Pew from George Washington University, where she was associate vice president for central development. In that role, she supervised a team that oversaw fundraising for cross-university initiatives and presidential priorities.
“Maryam has a wealth of fundraising and leadership experience, and we are incredibly pleased to welcome her to Pew. I know she’ll make a positive impact as we seek to grow our collaborations with philanthropists who share our goal of serving the public good,” said Priya Bery, Pew’s senior vice president for partnerships.
“I’m excited to join the team at The Pew Charitable Trusts, which is well-positioned to lead positive change in collaboration with philanthropists,” said Henson. “I welcome the opportunity to build on Pew’s history of partnership and record of serving the public.”
Henson has a strong management background and more than 15 years of experience in development. Prior to her work at George Washington University, Henson served as executive director of the office of fellowships, awards, and research, and then as director of corporate and foundation relations, at Georgetown University.
Henson received a juris doctor degree as well as a bachelor of science degree in foreign service from Georgetown University.
