PROFILE

Maryam Henson is vice president for partnerships at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where she oversees the planning and implementation of the organization’s resource mobilization strategy, helping to steward current partners and increase external support for key initiatives. She leads teams working with individuals, institutions, and networks, to build the community and contributions necessary to address society’s greatest opportunities and challenges.

Before joining Pew, Henson was associate vice president for central development at George Washington University, where she supervised a team that oversaw partnerships for cross-university initiatives and presidential priorities. Prior to her work at GW, Henson served as executive director of the office of fellowships, awards, and research, and then as director of corporate and foundation relations, at Georgetown University. She is a longtime leader and educator on institutional, research, and industry partnerships, including founding the National Capital Region CFR Directors Networking Group. Henson also served on the national board of the Network of Academic Corporate Relations Officers, and developed a nationally ranked Fulbright awards program that created opportunities for hundreds of Americans overseas.

Henson holds a bachelor of science in foreign service and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. She is a member of the bar of the State of Maryland.
