PROFILE

Alexandra Duncan works on Pew’s federal and state initiatives to reduce the inappropriate use of prescription opioids and increase access to evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders.

Before joining Pew, Duncan was a research associate at IMPAQ International LLC, where she supported the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight on issues related to Affordable Care Act compliance with prescription drug and nondiscrimination regulations for high-cost medical conditions, including opioid use disorder, as well as evaluation of health programs. Previously, she was a senior analyst for Abt Associates, working on several projects related to HIV testing and the integration of treatments for HIV and substance abuse. 

Duncan holds a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College, a master’s in public health from Tulane University, and a doctorate in public health from Columbia University.
