PROFILE

Guinnevere (Winnie) Roberts directs Pew’s conservation support and conservation science teams, focusing on securing evidence-based policy outcomes that support healthy and resilient ecosystems and coordinating Pew’s engagement in multilateral forums and meetings, including the Convention on Biological Diversity and the United Nations General Assembly. Roberts also supports the development and implementation of Pew’s conservation projects, helping advance their objectives and guiding alignment across Pew’s environmental portfolio.

Before joining Pew, Roberts was director of multilateral affairs for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, worked with the U.S. Agency for International Development on combating tuberculosis, and represented the United States in a range of organizations, including the Joint U.N. Programme on HIV/AIDS, UNESCO, and the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime. She also worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Roberts has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Yale University and a doctorate in zoology and ecology, evolution, and conservation biology from the University of Hawaii.
