PROFILE

David Tecklin, Ph.D., drives Pew’s work to conserve the Pantanal and Gran Chaco of South America, working closely with partner organizations in the region to expand conservation management for key ecological areas.

Tecklin has more than 20 years of experience as a conservation practitioner and researcher. He founded and managed the Austral Patagonia Program at the Austral University of Chile, as well as established and directed the World Wildlife Fund’s Chile program.

Tecklin holds a bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology from Swarthmore College, a master’s in Latin American studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in geography from the University of Arizona.
