The Pew Charitable Trusts’ evidence project works with funding organizations, researchers, policymakers, and others to transform how research and evidence are generated, valued, and used.

The evidence project develops the capacity and infrastructure needed to connect evidence and decision-making in three linked ways:

• Connecting networks: We convene researchers, decision-makers, funders, and other stakeholders to share experiences and promising practices and to take collective action, including through the Transforming Evidence Network, a new global, cross-sector community that generates and curates knowledge of effective connections between evidence and decision-making across a range of issues.
• Creating and sharing resources: We lead capacity-building workshops and develop handbooks, toolkits, and other resources to help stakeholders adopt promising practices quickly and troubleshoot common problems in connecting evidence and decision-making.
• Coordinating funding organizations: We facilitate the Transforming Evidence Funders Network, a group of public and private funders from around the world who are interested in investing in closer connections between evidence, policy, and practice. This network promotes promising practices and aligns investments to build capacity and demand for evidence-informed solutions that address pressing public policy concerns.
