WHO and Pew Call for Acceleration of Antibiotic Development

As part of their ongoing collaboration to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the World Health Organization and The Pew Charitable Trusts are urging policymakers, pharmaceutical companies, research funders, and other stakeholders to act swiftly to reinvigorate the stagnant antibiotic pipeline. The call to action follows analyses from each organization earlier this year showing that there are far too few antibiotics in clinical development.
