Flood-Prepared Communities
The Pew Charitable Trusts

Yaron Miller leads the state policy and campaigns portfolio of Pew’s flood-prepared communities project. In this role, he oversees the development and implementation of initiatives to help states and communities mitigate flood risk and reduce recovery costs. This work includes advocacy at the state legislative and executive levels to secure funding for mitigation programs, pass innovative legislation that will spur flood risk reduction projects that rely on natural solutions, and promote the adoption of policies that make communities more resilient. Miller previously worked on Pew’s restore America’s parks project, where he developed support among businesses and gateway communities across the country and helped secure congressional backing for legislation to address the National Park Service’s deferred maintenance backlog.

Before coming to Pew, he served as the director of national outreach for a national conservation nonprofit and worked on multiple electoral campaigns across the country.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and environmental studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a master’s in environmental management from Duke University.
