Victoria Sheppard manages Pew’s ending overfishing in Northwestern Europe campaign in Brussels, where she represents the Trusts in discussions with government leaders and stakeholders, focusing on strategy and coordination with other nongovernmental organizations and engagement with the European Commission and Members of the European Parliament. She also leads the campaign team in the Brussels office.
Before coming to Pew, Sheppard held various roles with the Canadian government in Ottawa, including deputy director of international regulatory cooperation with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and acting manager of marine conservation with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, where she worked on policy development and the establishment of Canada’s network of marine protected areas. Most recently, she worked in the trade group at Canada’s mission to the European Union.
Sheppard holds a bachelor’s degree in marine and freshwater biology from the University of Guelph in Canada, and a master’s degree in environmental studies from Dalhousie University in Canada.
