Wildlife Crossings Can Enhance Ecosystems’ Climate Resilience and Adaptation, Experts Say
In November 2022, The Pew Charitable Trusts convened a group of climate and infrastructure experts from around the country to explore how wildlife-friendly transportation infrastructure contributes to ecosystems’ resilience to climate change. Those discussions produced a consensus statement and set of recommendations to guide efforts by elected officials, federal and state wildlife and transportation agencies, and the nonprofit and scientific communities to promote investments in climate-informed wildlife crossings.
