Pew Calls for Increased Focus on Safety in Electronic Health Record Testing

The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter Oct. 17 to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, urging it to incorporate safety-related provisions in a new reporting program for electronic health records. Congress directed the agency to develop this program and release its findings to the public in accordance with the 21st Century Cures Act, passed in 2016 with bipartisan support.
