PROFILE

Rachel Zetts is a senior officer with Pew’s antibiotic resistance project, which supports efforts to spur the discovery of new antibiotics and ensure that these drugs are prescribed appropriately. Her work focuses on research and developing strategies and policies that will help improve stewardship of antibiotics in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and other health care settings.

A longtime member of Pew’s antibiotic resistance project, Zetts has written about and lectured on the need for increased antibiotic stewardship and solutions for a broken antibiotic development pipeline. Her work has been published in JAMA, Pediatrics, and Health Affairs Blog.

Zetts holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and a master’s of public health in epidemiology from the George Washington University.
