KerriLynn Miller is an officer with Pew’s preventing ocean plastics project, which aims to propose strategies to reduce the global plastic pollution problem. She previously led a new effort, under Pew’s international fisheries program, that focused on reducing bycatch and exploring protections of nursery and spawning sites impacted by international fisheries. Prior to that, Miller worked on other international marine initiatives at Pew, including highlighting the global plight of sharks from overfishing and protecting ocean life on the high seas.

Before joining Pew, Miller worked on science and policy issues related to fisheries and marine wildlife at Oceana.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Delaware and a master’s in environmental management, with a concentration in coastal environmental management, from Duke University.
