ExxonMobil has proposed to develop oil and natural gas in Alaska's remote Point Thomson area. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is undertaking an environmental impact statement (EIS) to assess this proposal and reasonable alternatives. This HIA is being done by the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services and Department of Natural Resources, who are cooperating agencies in the preparation of the EIS. The HIA and EIS are in progress.
