Ashleigh Cirilla leads the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy Project’s efforts in the Eastern Tropical Pacific region. In doing so, she works with in-country contractors to develop and advance campaign strategies with the goal of helping to establish and improve a conservation network of effective marine protected areas in the region. Cirilla also provides leadership and program support for all campaign sites.
Before joining Pew, Cirilla was an in-house attorney focused on sustainability in urban development with the U.S. Green Building Council. She also worked on international treaties and laws in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of General Counsel International Section.
Cirilla holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Niagara University, a Juris Doctor from Villanova University, and master of laws in international environmental law from George Washington University.
