Organizations Encourage Lawmakers to Support the PATH Act

On March 18, The Pew Charitable Trusts, the Trust for America’s Health, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America sent a letter to health legislative assistants in support of the Promise for Antibiotics and Therapeutics for Health (PATH) Act. Introduced on January 16, 2015 by Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Michael Bennet (D-CO), the bipartisan legislation would establish a much-needed regulatory pathway for approval of antibacterial drugs that treat serious or life-threatening infections in patients who have few or no other options.
