Q. What serious issue in your state would you like the next president to address?

The overall economy and taxation issues. We have to have a broader vision in the international economy. We’ve done very well in Indiana of late, and I would like to see the same types of policies … which is to say lowering taxes … and making sure we have a tax structure that makes the United States more competitive globally.

– Indiana state treasurer and delegate Richard Mourdock, 56, of Darmstadt, geologist, interviewed by Pamela M. Prah, Stateline.org
