MEASURING ELECTION PERFORMANCE

To capture a clear national picture of how well states are administering elections, Pew created the Elections Performance Index, an interactive tool that allows users to quickly and easily analyze the voter experience across states, years, and categories of information. The index relies on 17 objective indicators of election performance, including turnout, voting wait times, and the availability of online voter registration.

The Elections Performance Index was transferred to the MIT Election Data & Science Lab on Aug. 9, 2018. Please visit http://elections.mit.edu for information on the 2016 election and future updates.
