Kathryn de Wit


Kathryn de Wit manages the broadband research initiative. Before joining Pew, de Wit was a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, where she focused on telecommunications, cybersecurity, and management consulting.

Anna Read


Anna Read is an officer for Pew’s broadband research initiative. Before joining Pew, she was a senior research associate at the American Planning Association. She also worked as a project manager on regional broadband planning efforts for Missouri’s Office of Administration and for the International City/County Management Association’s Center for Sustainable Communities, where her work focused on smart growth and rural communities. Read holds a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College and a master’s degree in regional planning from Cornell University.

Dan Kitson

Senior associate

Dan Kitson is a researcher for the broadband research initiative. Before joining the team, Kitson worked on Pew’s data as a strategic asset team, which researched ways that state governments use data to inform policymaking. Kitson holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago.

Matthew Reese


Matthew Reese is an officer for the broadband research and fiscal federalism initiatives. Before joining Pew, Reese was the senior budget and policy analyst at Federal Funds Information for States, a research organization that aims to help states manage their federal funds. Reese holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio University and a master’s in policy economics from DePaul University.
