Pew Comments on FDA Oversight of Dietary Supplement Ingredients
The Pew Charitable Trusts submitted comments to the Food and Drug Administration on July 15, 2019, in response to the agency’s request for ideas to facilitate responsible innovation in dietary supplements while protecting public health. Pew proposed steps that FDA could take to better ensure the safety of new dietary ingredients, and recommended that Congress pass legislation to provide the agency with the basic product information it needs to effectively monitor the supplement market and enforce the law.
