Planned gifts and bequests

One way you can make a long-lasting, positive, and powerful change in the world is to include Pew in your estate plans. A bequest—a statement in a will or living trust describing one’s intention to make a charitable gift—is one of the easiest ways to create a meaningful legacy. With a bequest, you can:

  • Maintain lifetime control of your assets.
  • Determine the amount and purpose of your gift.
  • Benefit from possible tax savings for your estate and heirs.
  • Modify your bequest at any time to address changing circumstances.

Donor-advised funds

By establishing a donor-advised fund at Pew, you can make a tax-deductible gift while retaining an advisory privilege to recommend grants from the fund to other charitable organizations. Pew provides a unique giving platform that offers donors multiple benefits:

  • Access to our extensive experience in grant-making, planning, and evaluation.
  • Support from seasoned teams and infrastructure in our finance and legal departments.
  • A highly customized model of donor service.

To discuss establishing a donor-advised fund at Pew or to request information, feel free to contact Mary Tanner Noel at [email protected] or 202.540.6598.

Contributions from donors in the United Kingdom

In the U.K., Pew focuses primarily on environmental policy initiatives that protect the global marine environment, from the waters of northwestern Europe to the Atlantic Ocean and the pristine seas surrounding the U.K.’s overseas territories. The Pew Research Center, a subsidiary of The Pew Charitable Trusts, conducts public opinion research in the U.K. and helps policymakers and the public prepare for future challenges.

Contributions from donors in the United Kingdom (which may benefit from Gift Aid) may be directed through Pew’s designated fund at the National Philanthropic Trust UK. Please contact [email protected] to learn more about making your UK tax-deductible donation.

The Pew Charitable Trusts is recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its federal tax identification number is 56-2307147, and contributions to it are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
