PROFILE

Yaron Miller leads the state policy and campaigns portfolio of Pew’s energy modernization project, which advances the transition to electric vehicles and a clean, reliable electric grid and the expansion of renewable energy solutions such as offshore wind.

Miller previously worked on Pew’s efforts to address the National Park Service’s deferred maintenance, where he developed support among businesses and gateway communities throughout the country and secured bipartisan congressional backing for the Great American Outdoors Act. He has also worked on the flood-prepared communities project, where he oversaw the development, passage, and implementation of policies to help states and communities mitigate flood risk and reduce recovery costs. This work included advocacy at the state legislative and executive levels and resulted in more than $1.7 billion in new funding for nature-based mitigation programs and commitments from state policymakers for comprehensive resilience planning to reduce flood risk.

Before coming to Pew, Miller served as the director of national outreach for a national conservation nonprofit group and worked on electoral campaigns throughout the country.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and environmental studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a master’s in environmental management from Duke University.
