Pew Environment Group Statement on Passage of Omnibus Wild Lands House Bill

Jane Danowitz, Director of Pew Environment Group's U.S. public lands program, today issued the following statement on House passage of H.R. 146, a package of more than 160 public lands, water, and resources bills, including two million acres of wilderness in nine states.

“Today's action begins a promising new chapter in the commitment of Congress to protect wilderness and other public lands.

“We hope it will be the first of many bipartisan efforts by lawmakers this year to ensure the nation's most valued landscapes can be enjoyed by generations to come."
