CA: California assisted-suicide bill becomes law
Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a bill allowing California physicians to prescribe lethal doses of drugs to terminally ill patients. Four other states—Montana, Oregon, Vermont and Washington—also permit assisted suicide.

OH: State seizes five tigers in Ohio
State officials removed five tigers from an animal shelter in central Ohio, saying the owner had failed to comply with state requirements that ban the ownership and sale of certain exotic animals without a special permit.

Police departments across Alaska are starting to equip officers with video cameras. The state also plans to outfit all 400 state and wildlife troopers with cameras.
NH: New Hampshire to look at taxing fuel-efficient vehicles

OK: Oklahoma soon to allow online voter registration
Oklahoma will join two dozen other states on Nov. 1 in allowing online registration, though there’s no guarantee it will be ready in time for the 2016 elections.
WY: Wyoming lawmakers recommend startup subsidies
A joint legislative committee recommended the state provide up to $250,000 in matching funds for technology-based startups, with the provision that the products or ideas could return economic benefit to Wyoming’s economy.
LA: Will Louisiana residents need extra ID to fly next year?
Without an exemption, Louisiana residents could find their state driver’s license will not be accepted to board flights as early as next year. The federal government has stopped accepting licenses from Louisiana, New Hampshire, Minnesota and New York as ID to enter 217 federal buildings because they do not comply with the REAL ID law.
