Since Stateline launched in 1999, we have supplemented our own original reporting with links to other sources of quality news about state government. Today, with your help, we are stepping up that effort.
We invite you and all fellow Stateline readers to share examples of exceptional journalism about state government using the #StateReads hashtag on Twitter. Readers can also send submissions to [email protected] .
We, in turn, will pick the best examples to share in a short wrap-up every Tuesday. We will give full credit to the journalists who produced the piece and, if applicable, the reader who nominated it.
The stories we are looking for go beyond day-to-day statehouse journalism. They take a hard look at hard problems. They uncover secrets. They give numbers meaning. They compare states. They look at why laws work, or why they don’t. They do an incredible job of explaining the inner workings of government. They are the types of stories that are worth sharing with thousands of other people with a keen interest in state government. And they don’t need to be written stories. They can also be videos, radio pieces or interactive features.
