Research
My research interests are structural biology of proteins and structural genomics. Moreover, studying the structure of proteins in solution by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and the cloning of cDNAs and subsequent heterologous expression of recombinant proteins in Pichia pastoris and Escherichia coli. In other aspects, we are applying advances related to structural genomics to biomedical areas such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. My group is interested primarily in using structural data to understand the activity displayed by a protein.
