The Island Voices brings together artists, educators, fishers, former government officials, and traditional voyagers from across the Pacific with a shared interest in clean and healthy oceans. The members are communicators of traditional knowledge and wisdom who advise the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy Project on our work with small island communities to advocate for ocean safeguards. The group is dedicated to linking traditional values with modern decision-making and committed to protecting the unique identify of the Pacific and its islands.
The Island Voices ambassadors hail from Palau, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Easter Island. They are led by Ann Singeo, executive director of the Ebiil Society, a conservation organization based in Koror, Palau.
Members of The Island Voices share experiences and knowledge across islands and communities. Their goal is to facilitate lasting connections and learning exchanges.
