The growing threat of a pandemic flu that could kill thousands and hospitalize many more is a significant test for public health authorities in all 50 states. The Pew Center on the States and the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) launched a partnership in 2006 to identify strategies that states and communities have developed to deal with this threat. As a result, CIDRAPPractices.org, an interactive database developed by Pew and CIDRAP, features dozens of promising practices that can be adapted by public health leaders across the country.
The Pew Center on the States partnered with Pew's Pandemic Preparedness Initiative on this effort.
Although our work on this project concluded in spring 2008, resource materials remain available here.
