The Heritage Philadelphia Program supports history exhibitions and interpretative programs as well as the preservation of historic buildings in the Philadelphia region. The program is part of the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage and is administered by the University of the Arts. It invests in projects that are grounded in contemporary scholarship and are engaging for local residents as well as tourists.
The Heritage Philadelphia Program funds projects that connect history to the present. Many projects tell compelling stories on present-day topics through partnerships between history organizations and artists or community organizations.
Heritage Philadelphia Program grants are awarded on a competitive basis and are selected by a distinguished national panel of experts in the fields of museum and historic site management, preservation architecture, exhibitions and interpretive programming.
