Other Environmental Work

Pew is constantly seeking environmental projects where it can make a difference, such as the National Commission on Industrial Farm Animal Production and the Northeast Land Trusts Consortium.

  • Human Health and Industrial Farming

To preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics use in humans, the Human Health and Industrial Farming campaign works to curtail indiscriminate antibiotic treatment in livestock, which can contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant infections in people.
  • Northeast Land Trust Consortium

The Northeast Land Trust Consortium, an initiative of The Pew Charitable Trusts, works with land trusts in the northeastern United States to conserve pristine forests, farmland and waterways.
  • The Pew Commission on Farm Animal Production

Pew partnered with the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health to establish the independent National Commission on Industrial Farm Animal Production.
  • Reforming Industrial Animal Agriculture

Pew's project on reforming industrial animal agriculture works to address the broken, unhealthy and unsustainable practices common to many of the largest industrial animal production facilities in America.
