The Pew Charitable Trusts has worked on a variety of topics over the years.  This list of projects that are no longer active, while not a comprehensive record of all of our past programs, provides links to information about our previous efforts and accomplishments.

    A nation’s future depends on how well it nurtures and protects its young people. Pew seeks to study and promote nonpartisan policy solutions for pressing and emerging problems that affect the next generation.

    Pew’s Economic Policy Group combines a belief in the importance of economic mobility and the power of the market economy, with an understanding offered over two centuries ago by Alexander Hamilton that the market “may be beneficially stimulated by prudent aids and encouragements on the part of the government."

    The Pew Environment Group is a major force in educating the public and policy makers about the causes, consequences and solutions to environmental problems. We actively promote strong conservation policies in the United States and internationally.

    Several of the Pew Center on the States’ projects focus on how well state governments conduct the public’s business, including the Government Performance Project, which both assesses and assists states, and the Public Safety Performance Project, which encourages sentencing and corrections reform.

    Based on research and critical analysis, the Pew Health Group seeks to improve the health and well-being of all Americans. It advocates policies that reduce potentially dangerous health risks in consumer, medical and food products and services.
