Climate Change Policy and Science

Global warming is a major issue confronting both scientists and policy makers. To make informed decisions at this critical time, government leaders need the best research and policy analysis available.

Pew supports the independent Pew Center on Global Climate Change, a major research and policy center that brings better science into the legislative and regulatory arenas. Also, the center works with business leaders from major corporations who support reforms to address global warming.

On the national policy level, Pew’s overarching goal is to move the United States to join with other developed nations in setting mandatory controls on greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, state and local governments have begun to fill the void of leadership in addressing global warming. Pew invests in research, analysis and strategies to advance innovative policy solutions to the issue at the state level.
