Nutter's Budget Holds the Line on Taxes

02/29/2012 - A bit of good news would seem to be on the horizon for long-suffering residents of Taxadelphia.

Mayor Nutter doesn't plan to call for any new tax increases when he unveils the fiscal year 2013 budget next week, mayoral spokesman Mark McDonald, said yesterday.

The announcement came a few hours after the Pew Charitable Trusts' Philadelphia Research Initiative released results of a public-opinion poll, which found that 70 percent of residents surveyed believe that high taxes were a "somewhat serious" or "very serious" problem.
