03/19/2010 - White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers said the Federal Reserve has a strong record of regulating financial institutions, even with the failures that preceded the economic meltdown.
“There’s a great deal to be said for the Fed’s prominent role in financial supervision,” Summers, director of the National Economic Council, said today at a conference sponsored by the Pew Economic Policy Group. “ The job the Fed has done stands up quite well.”
