12/09/2009 - America’s children have an enormous stake in the worldwide race to a clean energy economy. With our strong research and manufacturing base and history of innovation, their future should be bright, as global demand for solar panels, wind turbines and other cutting-edge technologies grows exponentially. Yet today, America is falling behind.
To get us back in the race, we need more than public investment in clean energy. We need a comprehensive national energy policy and a fair and binding global climate agreement — a framework that effectively reduces carbon pollution worldwide. These steps will stimulate jobs now in new industries and help our next generation prosper in a healthier, safer world.
