06/05/2009 - This letter from Sera Harold Drevenak and Holly Binns of the Pew Environment Group's Ending Overfishing in the Southeast campaign provides recommendations to Chairman Duane Harris of the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council regarding the development of Amendment 17 to the South Atlantic Snapper-Grouper Fishery Management Plan. The campaign outlines four parts of Amendment 17 that, in its view, will need updating to fully comply with the recently reauthorized Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act and the finalized National Standard 1 guidelines.
