Philadelphia, PA -
01/06/2009 - The Pew Charitable Trusts today announced that Woodmark, an affiliate of The J Street Companies, will provide leasing and property management services for its Washington, D.C. headquarters, located at 901 E Street, NW. In partnership with the District and Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, Pew has dedicated the vast majority of its D.C. building to housing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, thus making it the city’s first “nonprofit village.”
“By providing attractive office space and conference facilities at below-market value, Pew hopes to bring together organizations that work to serve the public interest and further promote our shared goals. We are excited to work with Woodmark Commercial Services to fill the remaining space in our building,” said Rebecca W. Rimel, President and CEO of The Pew Charitable Trusts. “Nonprofits play a unique and important role in the District, and we are honored to be part of the effort to strengthen their presence in our nation’s capitol.”
Woodmark Principal Geoff Kieffer will lead the marketing and leasing program at 901 E Street. Harold Nelson, who has over 20 years of property management experience, will serve as Project Manager.
“Our entire team is thrilled to work with The Pew Charitable Trusts,” said Mr. Kieffer. “We believe we are uniquely qualified—with brokerage, property management and development capabilities—to manage this wonderful project.”
Originally built in 1989, 901 E Street underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2007, including work on the lobby, entrance and elevators. Additional upgrades will be made to the building so that it will achieve a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Buildings Council.
