Prisons Bill Becomes Law

03/23/2011 - Governor Beebe has signed into law a major overhaul to the state’s corrections system.


The legislation came out of a report done by Arkansas law enforcement groups and the Pew Center on the States that examined the reasons the state’s prison population has doubled in the last twenty years. About $9.4 million will be used to kick-start various supervision programs.
