The Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism (PEJ) co-hosted this event with the Newseum and George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs.

The event, "Transforming Journalism: The State of the News Media 2010," which was designed around the annual PEJ State of the News Media report, included a presentation of findings by PEJ Director Tom Rosenstiel and a panel discussion with Jim Brady, President, Digital Strategies, Allbritton Communications; Tina Brown, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, The Daily Beast; Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief, USA Today; Charles Sennott, Executive Editor, GlobalPost; and Mark Whitaker, SVP and Washington Bureau Chief, NBC News. 

Vivian Schiller, President and CEO of NPR, delivered the keynote speech. George Washington's Frank Sesno moderated the conference.
