The Year Ahead for International Global Warming Talks

On Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. EST, the Pew Environment Group will host a global warming telepress briefing with Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), who chairs key energy and climate panels and Yvo de Boer, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This briefing will occur just before the Bonn climate meeting where the world will take the first step on the road to Copenhagen to reach a new international agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol. The speakers will discuss the upcoming climate meeting, the state of play in the international process and what role the United States will play in drafting the new climate treaty.
