Report Release: Regional Impacts of Climate Change

As world attention focuses on international climate talks in Bali, the Pew Center on Global Climate Change prepares to release a new report detailing significant impacts of climate change already occurring in the United States.

The report, "Regional Impacts of Climate Change: Four Case Studies in the United States,” provides information about impacts in specific regions of the U.S. The report focuses on the following four regions:

  • Midwestern Cities
  • Western U.S.
  • Gulf Coast
  • Chesapeake Bay

On Tuesday, December 4, the report's lead authors along with Eileen Claussen will host a teleconference to discuss the key findings from each of the regional case studies and to comment on the urgent need for adaptation planning in the U.S.

Dr. Robert R. Twilley, Distinguished Professor in Louisiana Environmental Studies and Associate Vice Chancellor of Research and Economic Development at Louisiana State University

Dr. Donald F. Boesch, professor of marine science and President of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science

Eileen Claussen, President, Pew Center on Global Climate Change
