The National Early Childhood Accountability Task Force was created in April 2005 by the Foundation for Child Development, the Joyce Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts to build a comprehensive vision for early childhood accountability efforts. The Task Force was charged to review current state and federal initiatives, to provide guidance on tough issues and to recommend steps that states should and should not take as they embark on accountability and program improvement efforts.
