Washington, DC 20004
This event, hosted by Pew and Pre-K Now, focuses on current advances in providing access to pre-k education for three- and four-year-old children. Pre-K Now will release its annual Votes Count report, which details each state’s level of funding for early education.
This will be followed by a discussion of a new book on the pre-k movement, The Sandbox Investment: The Preschool Movement and Kids-First Politics. The discussion will be introduced by Susan Urahn (managing director of the Pew Center on the States), and feature the book’s author, University of California professor David Kirp, and Richard Whitmire (editorial writer for USA Today).
