Student chef Barrosha Boykin has a new appreciation for the school lunch professionals at her high school. She and her team won the 2014 Cooking up Change competition in Houston, Texas by preparing a delicious school lunch. Inspired by their Texas roots, the team created a Lonestar chicken chili sub, grilled veggies, and fruit and yogurt parfait—a menu that meets the nutrition standards, budget, and preparation limits that school lunch professionals face every day.
