Sun Catalytix, a former ARPA-E grantee, is developing novel flow battery technology for grid-scale energy storage. 

This new battery chemistry, discovered at the company, is expected to lead to lower cost battery energy storage systems. This will enhance the reliability of the electrical grid and facilitate the transition to a renewable power supply. Steven Reece, a Sun Catalytix founding scientist, explains the importance of innovation.
